GRE TEST STRUCTURE:
The GRE General Test consists of three main sections:
Verbal Reasoning Duration: 60 minutes Content: Assesses your ability to analyze and evaluate written material, understand relationships among parts of sentences, and recognize relationships between words and concepts. | Quantitative Reasoning Duration: 70 minutes Content: Evaluates your ability to understand, interpret, and analyze quantitative information, including problem-solving skills in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. |
Analytical Writing Duration: 60 minutes Content: Requires you to write responses to two tasks—a “Present Your Perspective on an Issue” task and an “Analyze an Argument” task. | Score Reporting The GRE is scored on a scale of 130 to 170 for both the Verbal and Quantitative sections, with half-point increments. The Analytical Writing section is scored on a scale of 0 to 6, also in half-point increments.
