The Medical College Admission Test is a computer-based standardized examination for prospective medical students in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands. MCAT Test Format:

MCAT asks Multiple Choice Questions from the following four areas:

Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems:

No of Questions: 59

Duration: 95 Minutes

Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems:

No. of Questions: 59

Duration: 95 Minutes

Psychological, Social and Biological Foundations of Behavior:

No. of Questions: 59

Duration: 95 Minutes

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills:

No. of Questions: 53

Duration: 90 Minutes

Void Questions:

Duration: 3 Minutes

MCAT Test Duration:

There is an optional break of 10 minutes between sections.

Total Time Required to answer all sections: 6 Hours 15 Minutes.

Scoring and Reporting:

The MCAT is scored in each section on a scale of 118 to 132, with a total possible score ranging from 472 to 528. Your scores in each section are combined to provide an overall MCAT score.

MCAT Testing Limits:

You can book only one MCAT test date at a time.

Over a year you cannot write more than 3 MCAT Test

Over 2 years you cannot write more than 4 MCAT Test

In a lifetime you cannot write more than 7 MCAT Test

MCAT Registration Fees for International Test-Takers:

International Registration Fee: For test-takers outside the United States, the fee can be higher than for U.S. test-takers. It’s usually around $410-$470.

Rescheduling Fee: If you need to change your test date, there might be a rescheduling fee, typically around $100.

Cancellation Refund: If you cancel your MCAT registration, you might be eligible for a partial refund, depending on when you cancel.
