The PTE Academic test consists of three main sections:

Speaking and Writing:

Duration: Approximately 77 to 93 minutes

This section evaluates your speaking and writing skills through tasks such as reading aloud, repeating sentences, summarizing written text, and more.

Reading:

Duration: 32 to 41 minutes

You’ll be assessed on your reading comprehension skills through tasks like multiple-choice, re-ordering paragraphs, and fill-in-the-blanks.

Listening:

Duration: 45 to 57 minutes

This section assesses your listening skills with tasks like summarizing spoken text, multiple-choice questions, and more.

Scoring and Reporting:

The PTE Academic is scored on a scale of 10 to 90. Your scores for each section contribute to your overall score. The test report also provides a detailed breakdown of your performance in each skill area.

Cutoff: 65 to 79 Scores are generally considered good and can make you eligible for admission to many universities and institutions. 80 and above Scores are often seen as strong and can open doors to competitive programs and opportunities.

What is PTE Passing Score?

PTE score range is 10-90; however, there is no passing PTE score. 65-75 PTE score happens to be a good PTE score, as it appears competent to get admission in the top universities. In other universities, PTE score between 50-63 can also be accepted.

How long is PTE valid for?

The PTE Academic scores are valid for up to two years from the date of the exam. Once the two years after expire, the PTE score automatically removes from the site, and it is not visible. It is also valid until it is not banned by a visa. Typically, PTE results use to apply in Australia, Canada, UK, and New Zealand.

What is the minimum PTE score for UK?

Student Visa (Tier 4 General Student Visa) below degree level, pre-sessional courses – Minimum PTE score required for UK is 43. Student Visa (Tier 4 General Student Visa) degree level and above – Minimum PTE score required for UK is 59.

What happens if you fail PTE?

You may retake your test as many times as you want, although you must wait until you have received your scores from one test before booking another.
