You must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) if you are coming to the UK for 6 months or more and are a resident of Bangladesh. Your test must be from a clinic approved by the Home Office. We will not accept a TB test certificate from a clinic we have not approved. If your test shows that you do not have TB , you’ll be given a certificate which is valid for 6 months from the date of your x-ray. Include this certificate with your UK visa application.

Attending the clinic:

You can contact any clinic to book an appointment either by telephone, email or visiting the clinic. You should make it clear you need the test for a UK visa application.

You can expect to get an appointment a few days after you request one. We cannot arrange or prioritise appointments for you. If you need to cancel your appointment, you should contact the clinic as soon as possible.

What you should bring with you?

1. Valid identification which contains your photograph such as a passport, national ID card or Refugee Asylum Seeker Card
2. A photocopy of your identification
3. The Tuberculosis Test Fee
4. If you have had tuberculosis in the past or have any other lung disease, you should provide details of your previous screening and, if possible, your medical notes and x-ray results

Test Fees:

• The fee must be paid in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) directly at clinic. The US dollar amount will be converted to Bangladeshi Taka based on the IOM official exchange rate. The cost of the test is in addition to the visa application fee.

• The fee is not refundable if the person is tested positive for TB or decides not travel to the UK, or their visa is refused. The test fee does not cover treatment if you already have TB.
